Sagent Chairman & CEO Chris Marshall Talks Dara with Robbie Chrisman at Ignite 2026 – PODCAST

To share where Dara’s headed, Chris sat down with Robbie Chrisman on a new Chrisman Commentary Podcast during this year’s Ignite, our annual customer summit that’s all about powerful content, real collaboration, and time together that actually makes a difference.
Robbie started the episode by explaining that the industry has been talking about the “end-to-end digitization” of mortgage servicing for decades, but no one has really delivered. Chris explained that’s what this year’s Ignite is all about – delivering on the unimaginable.
“Today, we’re going to demo the live [Dara] software. It’s not something we’re going to build – it’s something we’ve built.” (10:22-10:30)
Unlocking Unprecedented Speed at Scale…
After more than five years helping drive Dara’s development, Chris has seen how major investments in modern technology have shaped it into a fully automated, end-to-end platform. As Dara begins supporting mortgage servicing customers nationwide, servicers are no longer burdened by the antiquated, fragmented technology processes that have held back the industry for decades.
“We’ve automated [onboarding new or purchased loans] in a way that takes out all of the pain points, identifies all the potential errors, scrubs through all of the compliance issues that you may have had in the past, and it takes you all the way through that lifecycle until the loan is paid off or unfortunately becomes delinquent.” (11:08-11:27)
Dara helps servicers evaluate loan purchases upfront, so they know whether an investment is likely to deliver a return instead of taking on unnecessary risk. That clarity lets them acquire new loans quickly and with confidence. With a cloud-based infrastructure that handles time-consuming tasks, Dara is giving time back to servicers to focus on the human-side of servicing. Chris told Robbie:
“I know what someone needs and I know what it takes to delight people, and that’s what we’re aiming for at Sagent. We don’t work to deliver a system that’s a box. What we’re delivering in Dara is something revolutionary that’s going to change the servicing industry dramatically. It’s going to allow us to do things we could never do before.” (15:58-16:21)
Another cutting-edge feature of Dara is its ability to immediately embed compliance in every line of its code, no matter how fast industry regulations shift. While many enter negotiations for more time to implement when the agencies release a new rule, Dara can shift its model to account for new rules within days, if not hours. In Chris’ words:
“Today, a [regulatory] change gets made, and we can drop it into our system, and by the end of the day we know every line of code that needs to be changed … That’s going to change – revolutionize – how the government interacts with industry.” (17:13-17:29)
…And We’re Not Slowing Down
Robbie and Chris finished up their conversation by talking about where Sagent’s heading. There’s a lot to look forward to as Dara goes full speed into its implementation phase and is rolled out for its clients. Chris shared:
“At every corner, you should expect to see another innovation embedded into our system… We hope to take advantage of our head start and keep pushing the industry forward.” (19:41-20:01)
